In July 2026, as part of its efforts to strengthen its relationships with European stakeholders, the President of the Association for North-South Mutual Aid (AENS) travelled to Tournai, Belgium, where he met with the First Alderman of the City of Tournai.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss prospects for cooperation between different stakeholders and territories, as well as possibilities for developing future joint initiatives.
Discussions focused in particular on international solidarity, cooperation between territories and the development of socially oriented international projects. These exchanges allow AENS to further promote its activities and vision while exploring new opportunities for collaboration with institutional and non-profit partners.
Strengthening connections between territories
For AENS, developing sustainable partnerships is first and foremost based on dialogue, trust and the sharing of experiences. Meetings with local stakeholders provide an opportunity to better understand the realities of each territory and identify areas where cooperation could be meaningful.
The meeting in Tournai is part of this broader approach. It contributes to strengthening connections between stakeholders in France, Belgium and Africa, while opening the door to future collaborations.
